Our Founder Mike Daryoush to Reopen Stromboli Family Restaurant
No one understands how to turn traditional cooking into fresh and accessible food better than Mike Daryoush. After 30 years in the restaurant business and opening 23 locations of his Persian-influenced Moby Dick House of Kabob, Daryoush is growing his portfolio and turning his eye to another local favorite: Stromboli Family Restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland.
“Stromboli is a community treasure and for good reason. It’s important that we continue its tradition of good food and welcoming atmosphere. We’re going to give the restaurant a brand-new look and update the menu, while keeping the dishes that made the food here so popular with the neighborhood,” said Daryoush.
Stromboli Family Restaurant, owned by the Tomasello family, served the Bethesda and Chevy Chase neighborhoods for 37 years.
Daryoush plans to rejuvenate the menu with new dishes that, like his other restaurants, use traditional techniques and high quality ingredients. His goal is to give the Italian restaurant a fresh new look along with its new menu.
The foundation of Daryoush’s success is a belief in hard work and not cutting corners. When Stromboli reopens, he plans to have the same commitment to serving delicious food made from the best ingredients.
Stromboli Family Restaurant, located at 7023 Wisconsin Ave., will close on Sept. 15. The restaurant will open sometime early next year.
